Art Dream Comes True on Maui!

A couple days ago it was made official!  Collaborative three dimentional art on metal is on display at Sargent's Fine Art Gallery - 802 Front Street in the heart of downtown Lahaina across the street from Cheese Burger in Paradise and the ocean.  We have eight pieces of art hanging today.  "Meet the Artist Reception" is scheduled Friday September 26, 2014 from 7pm to 9:30pm and again Friday October 10, 2014.  I will be painting for the public for both shows.  Please drop by and say aloha!  We are focused on Hawaiiana themes, tropical dreamscapes and water elements.

 I mentioined a couple months ago that my work was on display at Sargent's. Jack asked me to do figurative. This was also a personal goal of mine. There is a good story behind the figurative art work (I will share later in the book I am writing). Kim the Art Director was out of town and the gallery graciously hung our first two pieces while we waited for Kim to return. During this time period Jack and I created our first body of work.  Happy to say Kim accepted the new pieces.  We have many images not pictured here, visit the gallery to see more!  We have many new ideas to create in the pipeline. I am excited to be creating art on this new substrate.  Jack's skill as a metal artist combined with my tropical painting style we hope will make a big splash here on Maui and beyond. For me it is a long held dream to have my work on display in Lahaina and at Sargent's a highly visible location!  You can tell I'm excited I am writing with many exclamation marks :)

McCartney Art is now at Sargent's Fine Art Gallery

I haven't posted in a while.  Too busy absorbing and experiencing this new magical Maui life. 

I'm back to art production and my work is currently at Sargent's Fine Art  Gallery in downtown Lahaina, Maui, HI.  It's a great corner location on busy historic Front Street across from Cheese Burger in Paradise! 

My mantra “take the leap of faith” led me to make the move to Maui July 2012.

I met artist Jack Nordby, May 2014.  He is known as “The Metal  Wave Guy” on Maui.  His story behind his art is beautiful!  This led him to envision then invent "The Wave Series” on metal. 

Jack's work has been on display at Sargent's Gallery for the past three years.  He was searching for months for an artist to collaborate with on a new series of art called “Beyond the Waves.”  I wanted to get back into painting and on a new substrate.  Our paths recently crossed and taking another leap of faith we began our art collaboration June 2014.

As of this writing we have our first 2 new pieces on display with ambitions to get 3 more completed before month end to show the variety of art we can create together.  It's wonderful working as a team.  I draw out the new ideas for our collaboration and we inspire one another.

Sorry for not posting.  I was busy transitioning from California to Maui, Hawaii!  I have lived here now for over a year closer to two.  My first year was getting settled and I did it slowly.  I wanted to soak in the Maui living experience as a local.  I can see why Maui is the BEST!  There is so much to do.  Island fever is not in my vocabulary!

Welcome to Kana'i A Nalu a quiet resort that sits on the ocean away from the road.  This property has the BEST ocean front views of Molokini Crater and Kaho'Olawe Island.  There is a swimming pool and BBQs for your use.  This two bedroom two full bath 952 sq ft full ocean view, ocean front property is located on the beach and first floor.  Access the beach from your lanai.  Enjoy sunsets year round over the ocean.  This is a great location year round particularly during the winter months; humpback whales can be seen in abundance.  This unit includes window A/C in the living room and 3 ceiling fans, FREE Wi-Fi Internet access for your laptop.  This unit is spacious and bright. This complex sits directly on a 3-mile stretch of white sand beach that spans almost the entire Ma'alaea Bay.   This setting is wonderful for a romantic sunset stroll.  For the more active person this is a great beach to run on as you can do so for miles in peace away from the crowds.  The west end of the beach is Haycraft Park and Ma'alaea Harbor. If there is a big south swell, the wave off the harbor, "Freight Trains," can be one of the best in the world attracting expert surfers.   Towards the east of Ma'alaea is a great spot for windsurfing, during both trade and Kona winds. This property is located less than a mile walking distance to Ma'alaea Harbor and it is centrally located on the island between South and North Maui.
